This journal is a collection of outside experiences I have with my inquires. Here you will find photos and videos documenting my experiences.
Bring a friend to dance week:
A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to bring my friends to dance class. We were allowed to bring one friend BUT I squeezed a couple more in. One of the things about this was that some of my friends have never danced before. They learned a lot about the origin of dance and more specifically ballet. My friends were a little confused sometimes since ballet steps are not in English but in French. They all said that ballet was something they thought was easier and it wasn't until they were actually doing it they realized the complexity of it. I had a lot of fun dancing with my friends from school. It was nice to show them something I am passionate about. I hope they can do this again with me.
Edward M Kennedy INSTITUTE Field Trip:
Last Thursday some Nipmuc students and I went to the Edward. M Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate. This simulation allowed for students to see how the senate works as well as what it is like to play a senator in the senate.
In the SIM, we needed to take a selfie of ourselves then we were assigned a party, state, and personal beliefs. I represented a republican from Ohio. The most challenging part about this sim was that you had to fight for your party, state, and also your own beliefs. What I liked a lot was that I now have a better understanding of how the senate works but also how it looks visually and why it was set up and built the way it was.
Thanksgiving Break: Trip to Maryland
Over the Thanksgiving break this year I was able to travel alone to Baltimore, Maryland. Since traveling is one of my inquires I figured it would be fun to talk about my travel and some of the questions I wondered while going through the travel process. This was my first time traveling as a legal adult since I am now 18. A lot of my questions I had revolved around the security process. For my next blog post I am going to uncover the basics of TSA and how the system works in order to keep people safe from harm. I wanted to share some pictures from my trip. I went to my first college football game and had some amazing food for thanksgiving!
Painting Mugs:
Last week my generation think class had the opportunity to work with our art teacher Mrs. Clish. We painted mugs that eventually would be fired in a klim. This was very cool becasue in order to see the design you use special kinds of paints on the pottery. Down below you can see what my finished project looked like!
